[Poem a Day] “Station Buzz”

Check out today’s post on Instagram.

String enough bits of everyday noise together, and you’ve got poetry. Just think of how many isolated lines you pick up in twenty-four hours – how many sentences in isolation float by when you’re walking through a train station, a coffee shop, a public park, a shopping mall. Some of these lines just end up being beautiful because you lack their contextual weight. There is a story behind each and every sound bite you accidentally collect, but the lack of any details before or after renders them free and floating, leaving you wondering for a brief instant before the rest of the sentence you don’t catch trails off into a space you’re not part of.
