[Poem a Day] “Designated Lookout”

Check out today’s post on Instagram.

I feel odd staring out my window, waiting for a first line. The view isn’t great – just a white fence, a few tall oaks, a peeling shed.

Sometimes, if I stare long enough, I’ll end up writing a poem about home, or autumn, or my hometown. But I’ve really got to wonder if that was what I was sitting there waiting for, or if that’s just what I settled on.
