Grappling with some Instagram shadowban stuff on my end. I read somewhere online that a good idea would be to just take a weeklong hiatus from posting, commenting, or liking anything – just to let IG’s algorithm clear my profile, and things can return to normal.
See, the thing is: this isn’t even the first time this has happened. And I can’t even pinpoint exactly what it is that’s flagging my account as one that even needs to be shadowbanned. Throwing money at a bot to farm likes and follows for me is the last thing on my mind, and even if I WAS doing that, I think I’d be coming away from it with a much more bloated following than I have.
So if I don’t know what’s triggering the shadowban in the first place, I don’t know how to not inadvertently set it off again. And I can’t just disappear for a week every time the website limits my post’s reach to only the people following me.
TL;DR – not feeling great about my platform, but don’t expect any sudden disappearances any time soon. I’ll still be plugging away, just like I always am.
